Fantasy Football Start ’em Sit ’em Week 3 (2019)

It is Week 3 in the season and you are now likely dealing with at least one surprise injury to one of your key players. If that player is a QB like Big Ben or Drew Brees, you can still find upside fill ins like Buffalo’s Josh Allen or Jags new signal-caller Gardner Minshew II on the waiver wire who could potentially keep your team afloat.

Whatever you do, don’t blow up your team but agreeing to a lopsided trade or a trade where you are acquiring high risk and volatile players such as Melvin Gordon or Antonio Brown in return. There is still time to right the ship and go on a run that will catapult you into the fantasy playoffs.

Sometimes the best move is to observe your opponent’s a little longer before making your own calculated move in response. Remember, fantasy football is not a sprint, it’s a marathon. Don’t get tripped up by your own shoes being untied…

Week 3 Start ’em

Sony Michel – Patriots RB

Sony is coming off one of the easiest matchups of the season against the tanking Miami Dolphins in Week 2, where he scored his first rushing TD of the season. The game script called for lots of running plays and Michel was the main beneficiary with 21 rushing attempts for 85 yards but with no targets in the passing game.

Against a Jets defense that let the Browns’ Nick Chubb run wild on MNF, Michel should again receive a big workload on the ground that I predict will have him eclipse the 100 yards rushing mark for the first time this season in front of the Foxboro faithful in an easy home win for the Pats.

Sony Michel Week 3 Projections: 25 rushing attempts, 110 rushing yards, 2 rushing TD’s, 0 fumbles

Week 3 Sit ’em

Josh Jacobs – Raiders RB

The rookie running back followed up his 2 TD debut in Week 1 with a disappointing performance against division rival Kansas City in Week 2 with no scores and zero receptions. The knocks get harder in Week 3 on the road against a Vikings defense that is typically stout against the run. Jacobs is also dealing with a nagging groin injury that will surely slow him down in the open field.

Josh Jacobs Week 3 Projections: 15 rushing attempts, 65 rushing yards, 1 receiving target, 1 reception, 0 TD’s, 1 fumble
