Fantasy Football Start ’em Sit ’em Week 8

I tend to scroll through Twitter looking for fantasy updates. This week was much of the same except for one tweet that stood out to me in light of the latest injury shocker of the season. The tweet said something to the effect of, ‘This Breece Hall injury will impact the way people play dynasty for years to come.’ Indeed, the injury to Hall in Week 7 felt like a punch in the gut to those who drafted the talented rookie in the first round of dynasty drafts and third rounds in redraft.

Just as the fantasy god’s giveth, they can taketh away even faster than you can say Michael Carter SZN. This season has quickly exposed just how fragile the running back position really is. Investing high draft picks in such a volatile commodity can no longer be done blindly. As the game of fantasy football evolves, so will the strategies that will increase your chances of winning it all. Get ahead of the pack and adapt to this new philosophy like the NBA game did after the rise of Steph Curry and the 3-point shot. It is time to start drafting elite wide receivers and quarterbacks in the first round ahead of the running back position. This is the fork in the road. Don’t get left behind!

Week 8 Start ’em

Wan’Dale Robinson – Giants WR

The diminutive Giant wideout is looking like the WR1 after another strong performance following his Week 6 debut. The wave of injuries to the Giants receiving core has opened the door for Robinson to be another weapon for QB Daniel Jones, who is having a renaissance year in the Big Apple after many fans wrote him off.

With the triumphant return of Saquon Barkley to elite status, the G Men are currently 6-1 on the year, trailing only the undefeated Eagles for NFC East supremacy. A Week 8 shootout with Geno Smith in Seattle will provide ample opportunities for Robinson to pay off for those who deploy him as a high end FLEX option in this plus matchup.

Wan’Dale Robinson Week 8 Projections: 11 targets, 8 receptions, 89 receiving yards, 2 2 receiving TD’s

Week 8 Sit ’em

Darrell Henderson – Rams RB

Hendo has been underwhelming this season and has yet to break out despite Cam Akers suddenly being yanked from the starting job, leaving Henderson in the starting role. With rookie running back Kyren Williams rumored to have a large role when he returns to the team, his immediate future as the Rams starting running back seems murky at best.

In Week 8 the Rams have a tough matchup against division rival 49ers who always seem to have their number in the regular season. Fade Hendo in this matchup and look to move him sooner than later before it’s too late.

Darrell Henderson Week 8 Projections: 9 rushing attempts, 39 rushing yards, 2 targets, 1 reception, 6 receiving yards, 0 TD’s
