Fantasy Football Start ’em Sit ’em Week 7

It is Week 7 in the NFL, and so far this has been one of the weirdest fantasy football seasons that I have seen in recent memory. Is it just me, or are NFL offenses having a really hard time scoring points? If you have been smashing the unders this year, you have probably made a decent amount of money for yourself!

The Thursday Night games have been some of the worst football we have been subjected to. The running joke being that everyone should get a free year of Amazon Prime for having to watch these games, where both teams struggle to muster a TD (Colts vs Broncos anyone?).

Hopefully this season is an anomaly and we are back to the high scoring fantasy ways of the past sooner than later. If that doesn’t happen and this becomes a lasting trend, then I fear for the popularity of the sport’s future for the near and long term.

Rondale Moore – Cardinals WR

With Hollywood Brown injured and likely to miss at least a month, the second year wideout form Purdue is poised to move up to the number 3 target after the return of DeAndre Hopkins from suspension and TE Zach Ertz. Moore is now the shiftiest and most explosive player on the Cardinals offense, and should instantly become a favored target of Kyler Murray.

In Week 7 the Cardinals will face a banged up Saints defense who will be without shutdown corner Marshon Lattimore. The Saints D currently gives up the 4th most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers, a stat that is sure to benefit Moore who should be able to easily exploit this already weak secondary. Due to his youth and versatility, it is entirely possible that Rondale will become the top scoring option in short order.

Rondale Moore Week 7 Projections: 3 rushing attempts, 19 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, 12 targets, 9receptions, 88 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD

Terry McLaurin - Sit em Week 7 (2022)

Week 7 Sit ’em

Terry McLaurin – Commanders WR

McLaurin hasn’t been so scary so far this season, showing that he is not truly a QB-proof wideout who can get numbers regardless of who is starting under center. Through Week 6, Not so Scary Terry has only 1 receiving TD on the year, despite signing a 3 year, $ 68.2M contract extension with the Commanders in the off season.

In Week 7 he gets a back against the wall Packers defense who despite coming off 2 consecutive losses, are allowing the fewest passing yards per game in the league. With injured QB Carson Wentz likely to miss a handful of weeks due to a fractured finger, McLaurin will have to rely on journeyman Tyler Heinicke, which will severely limit his ceiling moving forward.

Terry McLaurin Week 7 Projections: 5 targets, 3 receptions, 63 receiving yards, 0 TD’s
