Fantasy Football Start ’em Sit ’em Week 3
It’s Week 3 which usually means the injury monster has started to rear its ugly head (prayers up to Trey Lance, you’ll be back!). If you have older, injury-prone players on your roster like Derrick Henry, James Connor and Leonard Fournette to name a few, it would be in your best interest to get some younger insurance for them in case the inevitable happens. Injuries can be hard to predict, but there are ways to minimize their damage to your roster.
One way is to invest in the youth movement happening at the wide receiver position. So far through 2 weeks, this season is the year of the rookie wide receiver, with a handful making an immediate impact for their respective teams. First round wideouts Drake London, Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, Jahan Dotson and Treylon Burks have all shown flashes or have had very productive games early on. While Jameson Williams, coming off an injury in the national title game, is on the verge of making his highly anticipated debut in the high octane Lions offense any week now.
My advice is to grab one of these talented wideouts before they break out. This will greatly increase your odds of winning a championship at the end of the year without breaking the bank.
David Montgomery – Bears RB
Montgomery is coming off a solid performance in Week 2 against the Packers where he rushed 15 times for 122 yards, the only thing missing was a trip to the end zone. This week he will look to rectify that with multiple TD’s against a Texans defense that are ranked dead last against the run.
Montgomery has shown signs of burst with 6 runs of 10+ yards against the Packers along with 8 broken tackles. This does not bode well for the Texans who are one of the worst tackling teams in the NFL. Expect the Bears to go Full Monty and gash the Texans in Week 3 on the ground.

Week 3 Sit ’em
Travis Etienne – Jaguars RB
Etienne has been a fantasy disappointment for many of his owners who feel burned after spending a 3rd round pick on the Jags RB1. James Robinson’s miraculous return from injury has ruined Etienne’s sophomore year coming out party, earning 25 touches to 12 while playing ahead against the Colts in Week 2. In Week 3 they will face an elite Chargers defense that didn’t allow any Chiefs RB to score in their TNF matchup. Fade Etienne this week and avoid another mediocre performance in your lineup.
