Fantasy Football Start ’em Sit ’em Week 17

If you are still reading this, let me personally say congratulations, you made it to the final showdown. Week 17 is the culmination of weeks of staying up late to see who you were able to pick up on waivers, making savvy trades and outsmarting your opponents. You somehow managed to dodge season-ending injuries and players who would suddenly end up on the C-19 list, forcing you to scramble for a worthy replacement.

In order to make it this far, you must be a survivor and someone who can quickly adapt to any situation that may arise in the unpredictable world of fantasy football. There is not much I can say to you at this point, but if there are any words of wisdom I have, it’s to finish the damn job. You never know when you will reach this summit again, so you might as well try your hardest to be the last team standing. Good luck, but I know you won’t need it…

Ronald Jones II – Lions WR

Filling the shoes of Leonard Fournette would be tough for any backup RB, but Jones has filled in admirably coming off a Week 16 performance that featured 20 touches and a TD in a blowout of the Panthers.

Jones out-touched his counterpart Ke’Shawn Vaugn 20-7 and gets a marshmallow soft matchup against the Jets D in the fantasy finals. Start him with confidence as Jones is poised to run all over the hapless Jets on his way to multiple endzone trips in the Meadowlands.

Ronald Jones II Week 17 Projections: 23 rushing attempts, 109 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, 5 targets, 3 receptions, 27 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD

Start em Sit em Week 17 - Sit Justin Herbert

Week 17 Sit ’em

Justin Herbert – Chargers QB

If you have been following closely, Herbert has been one of the most inconsistent real-life and fantasy quarterbacks this season and I for one can not stomach another dud performance when it matters the most. In Week 16 he struggled mightily against a middling Houston D and was only able to save his day with a garbage time TD to Joshua Palmer.

In Week 17 he faces a tough division rival Broncos D that picked him off twice in an ugly Week 12 loss. If you have the chance, I would much rather pick up a high-upside steamer like Trey Lance than suffer through another Herbert roller coaster that ends in disappointment.

Justin Herbert Week 17 Projections: 289 passing yards, 2 TD’s, 3 INT’s, 3 rushing attempts, 17 rushing yards
