Fantasy Football Start ’em Sit ’em Week 12

Thanksgiving is a time usually spent with family and friends where we can all share our gratitude for one another and everything we have been blessed with heading into the new year. This year may be a little different with everything going on in the world, but one thing remains the same. We will be able to watch NFL football, something that was far from guaranteed only a few short months ago.

Two games will be played today, first we get the Lions and Texans in the morning and the iconic Cowboys and Redskins game will be played in the afternoon. The night game between the Ravens and Steelers will not be happening due to the recent news which is both understandable and disappointing at the same time.

My point in bringing this to your attention is that we should not take anything for granted today or any day because nothing is promised. So as you go back for that second plate of turkey with stuffing, just remember that there is always going to be highs and lows during the season, but there will always be a light at the end of the tunnel. And If you are still reading this I just want to say I am thankful for you. Now let’s do like Jameis in a pregame speech and eat a ‘W’ this week!

Duke Johnson Jr. – Texans RB

Duke has been a disappointment after taking over for injured starting RB David Johnson in Week 9 with two back to back starts against the Browns and Patriots. In those two contests, he has failed to score a TD or go over 100 yards rushing despite having the backfield to himself and getting double digit carries.

On Thanksgiving Day he gets a plus matchup against a Lions defense that has allowed league highs in rushing scores (14) and receiving TD’s (5) to the running back position. This is the perfect opportunity for Duke to feast with multiple trips to the end zone in Week 12.

Duke Johnson Jr. Week 12 Projections: 17 rushing attempts, 89 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, 5 receptions, 15 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD

Week 12 Sit ’em

AJ Brown – Titans WR

Brown is a big physical receiver that has a nose for the end zone, scoring 7 TD’s in as many games. The only team that shut him down was the Colts in Week 10, holding Brown to a pedestrian line of 1 catch for 21 yards and no TD’s. I expect the Colts defense to give Brown the same treatment this week, instead electing to let lesser threats like Corey Davis get the targets through the air. Brown has also missed practice this week with a knee injury, limiting his upside in Week 12.

AJ Brown Week 12 Projections:3 targets, 2 receptions, 31 receiving yards, 0 TD’s
