Fantasy Football Start ’em Sit ’em Week 11

We are headed to the home stretch of the fantasy football season in Week 11. This is what I like to call ‘Don’t get cute’ week. What that means is this is not the time to be taking flyers on players because you have ‘a hunch’ they will score 2 TD’s. Ask the people who got cute in Week 10 and started Ryan Nall and Darnell Mooney over the likes of Rex Burkhead and Tee Higgins.

If you are one of those players who like to tinker and do exotic things with their lineups, this is not the week to be trying that. In short, go with what got you here, kid. There is a reason you took a late round flyer on James Robinson or believed in Justin Herbert enough to use a big chunk of your FAAB budget in Week 1.

You have good instincts when it comes to fantasy football, so use them and go with your gut. Not some crazy talking head’s advice that you got after watching one too many hours of YouTube at 2am. Lead with the players that got you to this point and they will reward you with a glorious ‘W’ and momentum heading into the fantasy playoff run.

Jameis Winston – Saints QB

We all knew this day would happen, but few could have predicted it would happen so soon. Jameis Winston is a starting QB in the NFL…for the New Orleans Saints. A team that is currently in contention to win a Super Bowl. Let that sink in for a moment…

Winston took a chance by signing with the Saints after a long stint with the Tampa Bay Bucs, who jettisoned their former number one pick for the one and only Tom Brady who is still undefeated against Father Time. In NOLA, Father Time may have finally caught up with HOF QB Drew Brees, who is now dealing with fractured ribs and a collapsed lung.

If Winston gets the nod over Taysom Hill it will be a buffet of offensive opportunities against a Falcons defense that has given up the most fantasy points to the QB position this season. I predict that Winston will indeed get the start and eat a ‘W’ in his first game back as a starter.

Ezekiel Elliott Sit em Week 11

Week 11 Sit ’em

Ezekiel Elliott – Cowboys RB

Trust me, this hurts me to say this more than you. But it’s time to bench Zeke. I know it will be difficult and you will say ‘but what about the volume!’ to which I will make my case. It doesn’t matter how many touches a star RB gets if you don’t have a QB who can threaten the defense. I repeat, without a QB like Dak Prescott putting pressure on defenses through the air, a star running back as talented as Zeke can be neutralized.

This is by far the worst season in Zeke’s young career, and maybe the fact that he got the bag in the off season has taken away some of his drive. Whatever the case may be, you can no longer trust him in your starting lineup if you have anything to lose in Week 11 and beyond. This week he faces a stout Vikings run defense that just shut down the Bears running game on MNF for the world to see. Fade Zeke and save yourself the fantasy headache.
