Fantasy Football Start ’em Sit ’em Week 13 (2019)

Week 13 could be foreshadowing of an unlucky outcome for some, but I am of the belief that when it comes to fantasy football you must create your own luck. By that I mean you should never take your eyes off the ultimate goal, and that is to win your remaining matchups and become the league champion by paying attention to the details!

My biggest piece of advice this week is to look closely at the moves of the other teams in your league by checking the activity and transaction feed. In one league, someone dropped Jimmy G and since I only had Drew Brees as my starting QB with no backup, I decided to drop a little used bench RB to shore up my QB depth heading into the playoffs.

Another fortunate example I can share with you is when I dropped my Saquon handcuff Wayne Gallman on Sunday night in order to block my opponent who had Robert Woods, in order to pick up Josh Reynolds. Once Woods was announced good to go, I quickly pivoted and saw that (much to my surprise) Hollywood Brown was still available heading into the MNF game with the Rams.

I dropped Reynolds and picked up Hollywood with the hopes that he is finally healthy and will be the explosive offensive weapon that he showed early in the season. Boom! Hollywood explodes for 2 TD’s and what should have been a third TD against the Rams in prime time. It is moves like these that can win you a fantasy football championship so keep your eyes peeled because you never know when an opportunity may strike!

Week 13 Start ’em

DJ Chark – Jaguars WR

Chark had an underwhelming performance in Week 12 against the Titans, and failed to score a TD for the first time with Nick Foles under center. In fantasy, you must have a short term memory, and I believe Chark is the perfect bounce back candidate in Week 13. He faces an anemic Bucs secondary that has given up big fantasy days to opposing teams’ wide receivers all season. The volume has been in his favor with Foles throwing over 30 times in the second half alone, which bodes well for Chark who should feast in the red zone.

DJ Chark Week 13 Projections: 13 targets, 9 receptions, 123 receiving yards, 2 receiving TD’s

Week 13 Sit ’em

Devin Singletary – Bills RB

Singeltary is coming off his first 100-rushing game against the Broncos in Week 12, but I’ve watched him play and I attribute this performance to a soft matchup more than his ability. In Week 13 he gets a much more daunting matchup against a Cowboys team who is coming off an embarrassing MNF beating against the Pats which Jerry Jones is still fuming about. I expect the Cowboys stout run defense to zero in on stopping the run and taking their chances with Josh Allen beating them in the pocket.

Devin Singletary Week 13 Projections: 10 rushing attempts, 54 rushing yards, 1 reception, 5 receiving yards, 0 TD’s
