Fantasy Football Start ’em Sit ’em Week 8 (2018)

Its Week 8 which means that the fantasy season is starting to ramp up. The teams that are on the bottom of the standings are just playing for pride and to ruin the hopes for those fighting for a playoff spot. If you are one of the unlucky owners who have Le’Veon Bell or Leonard Fournette, this is the week to unload them and get the most you can since you can convince other owners that there is a good chance of their return in the next 2 weeks.

Don’t stand pat if you know that your team isn’t good enough to win it all. You have to be aggressive and take risks in order to improve your team and have a chance at the post season. The talent on the waiver wire is getting slimmer from here on out, so don’t rely on these players to get you back into contention because the talent pool is very shallow.

Week 8 Start ’em

Nick Chubb – Cle RB

Chubb got the break that many of his owners have been waiting for, as the Browns traded starting running back Carlos Hyde to the Jaguars who have been dealing with the aforementioned Fournette injury and needed an insurance policy in case he cannot come back healthy.

In his first action in the lead role, the rookie got off to a slow start but was able to get into the end zone and salvage his day for fantasy owners. This week he has a stiff test in the Steelers run defense who is stingy against the run. Chubb should be in line for 20 or more touches, which make him a high floor option due to his monopoly on goal line carries. Expect another solid showing for Chubb who I predict will eclipse 100 yards rushing on the day despite the less than ideal matchup.

Nick Chubb Week 8 Projections: 22 rushing attempts, 113 rushing yards, 2 rushing TD’s

Week 8 Sit ’em

Kenyan Drake – Mia RB

Drake has had a pretty underwhelming season so far, but is coming off one of his best games in Week 7 despite only getting 6 carries, finding the end zone for only the third time this year. He is a candidate to come back to earth this week on the road against the Houston Texans who will look to make the Dolphins beat the through the air with Brock Osweiler under center.

Kenyan Drake Week 8 Projections: 5 rushing attempts, 33 rushing yards, 0 rush TD’s, 2 receptions, 12 receiving yards
