Every week, Mike Mital is responsible for telling fantasy football owners around the world who to sit and who to start. This is not your grandpa’s ordinary, boring start em sit em list–this is bold! You’ve been warned…

Week 1 Start em

Christine Michael – Sea RB

I know this is getting ridiculous, but we have been extremely high on Michael’s potential since episode 1 of our weekly podcast and the recent news that he is listed as the Week 1 starter ahead of Thomas Rawls is the enough to put him at the top of our start em list.

If C-Mike can keep the momentum going into the regular season, it might be enough to seize the starting role from Rawls for good. I am going to go out on a limb and predict a 100-yard game for Michael against a soft Miami defense. This game will be a blowout folks and no player will benefit more than Michael. If you are still not a believer, this is the last chance to hop aboard the C-Mike bandwagon!

Week 1 Sit em

Cam Newton – Car QB

I know this will be a shock to many of you. How could you possibly bench the best fantasy quarterback in the league last season? My answer to you is this… As we saw in the last Super Bowl, the Denver Broncos defense has Newton’s number and that will continue to be the case in Week 1.

Now the only way I would truly advise you to do this is if you have a backup QB on your bench who has a high-upside matchup like Kirk Cousins against Steelers or Matthew Stafford against the Colts. If Newton is your only viable option, then by all means start him. But just beware that there’s a chance he struggles with the pressure and meets his Kryptonite, Von Miller, on Thursday night in Denver.
