Week 4 Surprises

This was a week with a lot of fluky performances in my opinion, so if you have any of the players listed below you should think about selling them this week as this is probably the best it is going to get for these players so you might as well see what you can get…

Devonta Freeman, Atl RB

For the first time since the glory days of LaDainian Tomlinson has an RB broke out for 3 touchdowns in back to back games, and Devonta Freeman just did with over 100 yards in the first and 68 in the second. He is looking like a top ten running back. With the return of Tevin Coleman eminent, sell high on Freeman as there is no way he can keep up this torrid pace of touchdowns.

Vincent Jackson, TB WR

Vincent Jackson has been doing OK thus far in the season, however this last week he broke out for an enormous game, hauling in 10 catches for 147 yards and a score. With second year WR Mike Evans suffering from a potential sophomore slump, expect Jackson to see more targets as Famous Jameis will be playing from behind all season long.

Doug Martin, TB RB

The Muscle Hamster finally break out of his cage to the tune of 20 carries for 106 yards and a TD for the Bucs. He was one of the lone bright spots in a loss to the Panthers. Martin finally showed flashes of the talent that made him a top fantasy pick a couple years ago before he disappointed his owners with another disappointing season. If Martin puts together two productive performances in a row, shop him around your league and see what you can get.

Jeremy Hill, Cin RB

Jeremy was King of the Hill this week, finally breaking out of his two-week slump that had many owners getting ready to hit the panic button. He only had 40 yards on the field, but all you need is one yard for six, and he did that three times! Keep in mind that he only had 9 touches as well. Hill is clearly the goal line RB and will continue to split time in the backfield with Gio Bernard in the near future. This might be the perfect time to sell high on Hill as he will likely not have a better game the rest of the season and will have inconsistent production due to the presence of Bernard as the team’s pass-catching back.

Early Week 5 Injury Report

As usual, the injury bug struck again this week, with some more bad news for Cowboy fans…

Lance Dunbar, Dal RB

The pass-catching backup to Joseph Randle will now be out for the entire season with a torn ACL, adding more insult to injury for the Cowboys who have already lost Dez Bryant and Tony Romo for the better part of this season. Dunbar was showing flashes of his PPR potential before going down, which will only increase Randle’s already rising value going forward. Randle is now firmly in the RB1 conversation for the rest of the season.

Andrew Luck, Ind QB

The Colts’ struggling signal-caller was ruled out of Sunday’s game against the lowly Jaguars with a shoulder injury, which caused many teams including myself to find a last minute alternative on the waiver wire. If Luck’s injury continues to linger, expect his numbers and value to dip which will also have an effect on T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief’s production. The Colts offense is a mess right now so try and sell high on Hilton and Moncrief if you can.

Daniel Fells, NYG TE

The TE for the Giants went down with a foot injury and will be out for the rest of the season. This means that Larry Donnell will be getting more looks in the red zone and might be worth a pickup this week if you are in a deep league and are in need of a tight end.

That is all for this week! Tune in next time for the Week 5 FantasyCouch Recap and don’t forget to watch the Week 5 Waivers video and DFS Picks from Huseyin “The Brain”.
