Well the first week of the NFL regular season is in the books! And as usual, Fantasy Couch is going to bring you the inside scoop on key injuries and who you can trust moving forward. Let’s start with these players that will appear on the Week 2 injury report and have an impact in fantasy football.

Dez Bryant, Dal WR

The Cowboys big star was more than happy after finding out that his team won in their home opener against their divisional rival, the New York Giants. However it wasn’t all good news for him because he suffered a devastating injury to his foot, and will require surgery to repair it. The Cowboys star will have to wait on the sidelines for 4-8 weeks.

T.Y. Hilton, Ind WR

The young star of the Colts wide receiver core could miss 1-2 weeks with a knee injury that he suffered in the fourth quarter against the Bills. Although he didn’t finish the game completely, he still led the team with in yards from scrimmage (88). With his absence, the Colts desperately need either Andre Johnson to step up or their first round pick, Phillip Dorsett. The team stated that if Hilton feels good, he could play Week 2. As of now, T.Y. Hilton is listed as day-to-day.

DeSean Jackson, Was WR

The explosive receiver suffered a hamstring injury on a deep pass overthrown by Kirk Cousins. Jackson could potentially be out 3-4 weeks. Their head coach, Jay Gruden, later went on to say that he also could be returning sooner depending on how Jackson is feeling.

Andre Ellington, Ari RB

This Cardinal back was supposed to “the guy” for his team this year, but it turns out, he will have to wait to make his mark because he has a minor (Grade 1) PCL sprain in his knee. This isn’t as bad at it sounds; the running back will only miss this week and next at most per source that spoke to Ellington.

Derek Carr, Oak QB

The Raiders second-year quarterback suffered a bruised thumb this Sunday and will be set to return next week.

Josh McCown, Cle QB

Josh suffered a concussion this Sunday from getting hit and then helicoptering in the air. He is actually cleared to play and their head coach will make a decision for who will be starting next Sunday.

We all know that there were bound to be injuries this week, but that doesn’t mean that players cant shine either, here are some players that preformed very well this week! We all know that Tom Brady and Gronk were going to make some magic; at least I saw it coming. However some of the players that didn’t get that much faith heading into the first regular season game are; Bishop Sankey, Matt Forte, Marcus Mariota, Stevie Johnson, Chris Ivory, and Danny Woodhead. All these players did significantly better than anticipated, although I don’t think that this will be their last week at this level either. Many of these players are crucial for their offense to be effective and that is why this list was accumulated. Marcus Mariota is the key component that helped the Titans move the ball on offense and could be a great piece to add to your fantasy roster.
