Here is my Week 3 Start ’em Sit ’em list. Yes, there will be some names that you may disagree with, and that’s fine. Feel free to send all your praises and appreciative comments to my personal Twitter @SidSaysFC. Let the fun begin!

Week 3 Start ’em

Marcus Mariota, Ten QB

The rookie signal caller has been all that, and some, during the first two weeks of the NFL season. He has started his career off by throwing six touchdowns to ZERO interceptions and making the Tampa Bay Buccaneers second guess who they drafted this year. Mariota has a good matchup this week against a banged up Colts secondary, who may be without three of their top four cornerbacks this weekend. The Colts haven’t done much on defense as well, picking off one pass and one sack to start the year off.

Mariota has had back-to-back 200 yard games with two passing touchdowns and I expect him to continue that trend this week. Look for Mariota to throw for his first 300 yard game, to go along with another two touchdowns. Marcus is a Top 10 play this week; get him into your lineup. He also is a Week 3 DFS recommendation as an alternate quarterback.

Week 3 Sit ’em

Matt Forte, Chi RB

Both Jay Cutler and Alshon Jeffery are ruled out, and several key pieces surrounding Forte are banged up. On top of that, he is facing the Seattle Seahawks who have Kam Chancellor returning and are looking to make a statement. I expect the ‘Hawks defense to be pumped up and play defense the type of defense that we have been accustomed to seeing them play the past few years.

Forte will have a tough time getting anything going this weekend, I expect the Seahawks to load the box and do everything they can to stop Forte from beating them; I wouldn’t be surprised to see nine guys in the box at times. With no passing game to help take the pressure off Forte this weekend, I expect minuscule numbers; 35 rushing yards, no touchdowns and 3 receptions for 28 receiving yards. If those are the numbers you are looking for, put him in; if not, put in a player with a better matchup like Jonathan Stewart.
