Even though you might be wondering why we’re posting an article that has nothing to do with fantasy… We had to write about possibly the greatest sporting even of our generation. When Floyd “Money” Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao finally meet in the center of the ring on May 2nd, all of the world’s eyes will be upon them. This is a classic matchup of good vs evil, immigrant vs American, an untarnished legacy put on the line against someone with nothing to lose and everything to gain. Does an airtight defense always prevail against an explosive offense? On May 2nd, this age-old question will finally be answered.

Both fighters are at least a couple years past their prime, which some critics will say makes this fight less appealing. Floyd has slowed down in his last couple fights, taking more punches than he is accustomed to against the likes of aggressive young fighters like Marcos Maidana. Pacquiao, to his credit, was able to bounce back from his devastating knockout loss to Marquez with convincing wins against lesser opponents like Chris Algeri and Brandon Rios in Macau.

Mayewather vs. Pacquiao Prediction

Predicting the outcome of this fight can either make u look like a fool or a genius. The majority of the public and fans of boxing believe that Floyd Mayweather will knockout Manny Pacquiao easily on his way to a 48-0 record. While it would be hard to argue that outcome, I firmly believe that a more surprising scenario will unfold under the bright lights of the MGM arena.

Despite being known as one of the quickest and most elusive fighters in the sport of boxing, Floyd Mayweather has simply never seen the hand and foot speed of a fighter the caliber of Manny Pacquiao. The only fighter Mayweather has faced that comes close to Pacquiao’s combination of speed and southpaw style is Zab Judah, who also happens to be one of Floyd’s sparring partners leading up to the fight.

To win this fight, Pacquiao will have to press the action early and often without falling into Floyd’s counterpunching traps. Pacquiao has been known to be too aggressive at times which can open himself up to devastating punches like the one he suffered against Juan Manuel Marquez. The first few rounds will be a feeling out process between the two fighters as they get a sense of each other’s speed and distance.

Although Mayweather will be elusive and extremely hard to hit, he will get caught off guard in the mid to late rounds by a left-handed punch that will stun Mayweather and the collective audience worldwide. Mayweather will hit the canvas for the first time in his legendary career, causing the MGM arena to erupt in a frenzy. This is the only way that Pacquiao can win. He must forcefully put the first loss on Mayweather’s ledger without any doubt in the public and judges minds. On May 2nd, only one thing will be certain: this fight will go down as TBE… The Best Ever.
