Welcome to another bold start ’em sit ’em list. Below, I will will reveal who to start and who to sit for Week 14 of the 2014 fantasy football season. Warning: this is only a guide and common sense should be considered when deciding who to start and who to sit each week.

Week 14 Start ’em

Jonathan Stewart, RB Car

Anyone who has followed fantasy football the last few years knows the name Jonathan Stewart and the running back situation he is in with the Carolina Panthers, straight disgusting, and a mess.

I typically try to steer away from recommending to start one of the running backs in Carolina, but this week I see a good situation to start Stewart. In two of his last three games, Stewart has scored double digit fantasy points and this week it looks like he will get the majority of the carries with fellow running back DeAngelo Williams likely to be out. This week’s opponent, the New Orleans Saints, who have been decimated by opposing running backs the last month (four games) to the tune of 599 rushing yards and 106 fantasy points (standard scoring); this looks like a matchup that Stewart can take advantage of. Matter of fact, the Saints have been the fourth friendliest defense to running backs all year, allowing 20 fantasy points a game to running backs.

Stewart should have a solid fantasy week for his owners putting up 90 rushing yards, 35 receiving yards and a touchdown, making him a top-12 running back for the week.

Week 14 Sit ’em

Mark Sanchez, QB Phi

Since taking over the starting quarterback job in Philadelphia, Mark Sanchez has been as consistent as they come. Putting up 20 fantasy points (twice), throwing for 300 yards (three times) and throwing multiple touchdowns in three other games as well. All that is coming to an end this weekend.

If you were thinking of starting Sanchez this week as a sneaky play because he is playing Seattle at home, think again! In Seattle’s last three road games (at Car, KC, SF) they have given up a combined 9 fantasy points, no touchdowns (no passing nor rushing), and only 400 passing yards. Last time the Seahawks gave up double digit fantasy points to a quarterback was Week 10 to Eli Manning and he only managed 11 fantasy points.

Sanchez will see plenty of pressure in his face and will find it extremely hard to get anything going against a defense that has only given up two field goals in its last two games. Sanchez will finish the game with 183 passing yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions finishing outside the top-20 at quarterback.
