Here are the top players to add in fantasy basketball as of January 19, 2014.
Point Guard
Luke Ridnour, Mil PG/GS [8% owned in Yahoo, 1% in ESPN]
The force has been running strong in Luke over this past week and it’s showing on the court. Over the past three games the Bucks guard has averaged 10.7 points, 7.0 assist, and 2.3 threes, on 48% field goal percentage. If your team needs assist and three’s grab Luke.
Shooting Guard
Terrence Ross, Tor SG/SF [23% owned in Yahoo, 3% in ESPN]
This past week Ross has been playing like he’s late for an after Christmas sale, in a frenzy. His 2.0 threes, 11.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.3 steals in 31 minutes per game are set to continue for Toronto’s sharp shooter.
Small Forward
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Mil SG/SF [18% owned in Yahoo, 1% in ESPN]
The rookie guard/forward, known for obvious reasons as the Alphabet, is quickly developing into a solid all-round player. In his last three games the Alphabet has averaged 10.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.3 assist, 1.3 steals, and a block in 31 minutes per game. Look for these numbers to slowly increase as he learns the A.B.C’s of the NBA.
Power Forward
James Johnson, Mem SF/PF [19% owned in Yahoo, 1% in ESPN]
J. Johnson has been on a defensive terror this past month with averages of 1.3 steals and 2.4 blocks while dishing out 3.6 assist. Although not a flashy player, Johnson will provide an immediate impact in steals and blocks while giving your team a slight boost in assists.
Center
Taj Gibson, Chi PF/C [40% owned in Yahoo, 2% in ESPN]
Taj “Go Getter” Gibson is having another good January, with averages of 11.3 points 8.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 32 minutes per game. The Bulls are running short on healthy bodies and will rely on the go getter to continue doing the dirty work.
