If you’re reading this, we’ll assume you’re still in the playoff hunt. Playoffs are a different beast than the regular season. All traditional strategies can and should be scrapped based on your teams’ current situation. Two of our fantasy basketball experts give you a handful of names that could help you win your fantasy basketball league.

Matt Bohannan’s Picks

Luke Ridnour & J.J. Barea (PG/SG) Min

These two have been alternating with solid games and have both proven to be an asset especially in the assists category. If in need of a PG for the playoffs, MIN has the most remaining games left and you can get decent assist numbers here by pure volume.

Brandon Bass (PF/C) Bos

With Kevin Garnett on the shelf for at least a week, probably two, the Celtics will rely heavily on Bass as their only inside presence both offensively and defensively. If his body can keep up, he could be a great source of FG percentage, points and boards.

Tyler Hansbrough (PF/C) Ind

Psycho T has been playing at a high level since David West went down. Over the last 5 games, Hansbrough is averaging 14.6 points while shooting a very respectable 47% from the field and 79% from the charity stripe; 10.8 rebounds; and only 0.8 turnovers.

Tobias Harris (SF/PF) & Maurice Harkless (SF) Orl

These two guys have been very active in terms of their add/drops over the last month or so. Yes, Orlando has a mediocre schedule and these two are solid young guys with a bright future, but by no means are they the next LBJ. However, with all of Orlando’s injuries and suspensions, the Magic need to come up with 60-80 points per night somewhere, right? If you’ve suffered a recent injury and just need to make up for lost production, these two could be the stopgap you need.

Brandon Osborne’s Picks

Jerryd Bayless (PG/SG) Mem

Owned in approximately 20% of leagues, the Arizona native is bringing the desert heat to Memphis with averages of 19.3 pts and 2.3 threes on 52% shooting, in 30 minutes per game over his last 4 games.

Reggie Evans (PF) Brk

If rebounds are a category your team is lacking, Reggie Evans is more than willing to help out with 14.8 rebounds per game over his last 4 in 30 minutes per action. Evans is owned in approximately 25% of fantasy basketball leagues.

2012-2013 Fantasy Basketball Waiver Pickups for the Playoffs - Taj Gibson

Taj Gibson (PF/C) Chi

With Noah sidelined with a foot injury, Taj has averaged 12 pts 8 rebounds and 1.3 blocks on 50% shooting from the floor in his last 3 games.

Brandan Wright (PF/C) Dal

The lanky big man is making the most of his 21 minutes per night with averages of 12.8 pts on 56% shooting and 1.3 blocks in his last 4 games. These numbers will increase if Dallas is eliminated from the playoffs and he gets more playing time.

Overlapping Picks – Jump on these guys ASAP

Mike James (PG) Dal

The veteran guard has been riding a 4 game hot steak in Dallas averaging 2.8 threes, 11.8 pts, and 5.3 assists in 27 minutes per game. Dallas also has a favorable schedule in weeks 22 & 23. He is owned in less than 10% of leagues.

Kenyon Martin (PF/C) LAC

With Chandler sidelined with a neck injury K-mart has been playing like it’s 2003 when he was with New Jersey; averaging 14.3 points on 76% shooting, along with 7.5 rebounds, 1.3 steals and a block per game. New York, along with Minnesota, has the most games remaining of any team. Kenyon Martin is owned in 11% of Yahoo leagues.
