2012 Fantasy Football Start Em Week 6

Darren McFadden, RB, Oakland Raiders – If there is ever a week to start Run DMC it would be this week. I know that the Oakland Raiders have been pitiful running the ball this year but the Atlanta Falcons haven’t been much better at stopping the run. The Falcons are ranked 27th against the run, giving up a ridiculous 143 yds/gm and they have allowed six rushing touchdowns. The Raiders have had two weeks to prepare for this game and we should see a heavy dose of McFadden as the Raiders will try to control the clock by using their man-child of a running back.

Another factor in play is that the game will be played on turf and the speed McFadden possess will be on full display. Expect Darren McFadden to get his first 50+ yard touchdown run for the season while racking up another 100-yard game for 2012.

2012 Fantasy Football Sit Em Week 6

2012 fantasy football Week 6 - Sit Matthew StaffordMatthew Stafford, QB, Detroit Lions – What a huge difference one year makes… During the same time last season, Stafford threw for more than 1,300 yards, 11 touchdowns and only three interceptions. This year he has thrown for 1,182 yards, three touchdowns and four interceptions. That’s right folks he has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns this year and why all his fantasy owners are desperate to trade him. He hasn’t looked sharp in any of the games he has played this year, throwing a ton of passes and only has two plays of 40-yards or more with his longest being 51 yards.

He is coming off a bye so he is fresh and ready to go but I think his opponent will give him fits all day. This week he faces the Philadelphia Eagles who are ninth in the league against the pass. The Eagles have allowed six passing touchdowns all year and have that many interceptions as well. Opposing quarterbacks are only completing 53% of their passes and they have sacked the quarterback seven times, not great but they do generate a pass rush. I am skeptical that Stafford will have success against this defense, I see him throwing for 231 yards one touchdown and two interceptions and remember their playing in Philly where the fans are hostile and loud.
