2012 Fantasy Football Start Em Week 4

2012 Fantasy Football - Start Jamaal Charles Week 4START Jamaal Charles, RB, Chiefs – Was there ever any doubt that Charles would return to form? Of course not, it was only a matter of time before he would prove all the haters wrong. Last week he rushed for 233 yards, the second highest total of his career (he rushed for 259 yards Week 17 of the 2009 season), proving to fantasy owners that his knee injury is a thing of the past. He looked like the guy that rushed for back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons and seems to have gained the confidence in his knee to make those amazing cutbacks he did before the injury. Don’t expect him to put up over 200 yards every week but it’s a great sign of things to come.

This week presents a tough matchup against the San Diego Charges who are currently ranked 4th against the rush (67yds/gm) and have not allowed a 100 yard rusher so far this season. They have shut down the likes of Darren McFadden (32 yards rushing) and Chris Johnson (17 yards). This seems like a tough matchup but after seeing Charles run wild last week, I don’t think he’ll have a problem putting up some good numbers. Also, if Peyton Hillis misses this game, don’t be surprised if Charles has over 25 touches, making him a must-start for your fantasy team. Jamaal Charles will be involved in the passing game, rush for 100 yards and score a touchdown against the Chargers. Be smart and start Jamaal Charles Week 4.

2012 Fantasy Football Sit Em Week 4

2012 Fantasy Football - Sit Cam Newton Week 4SIT Cam Newton, QB, Panthers – What happened to the kid last week? He threw not one, not two, but three interceptions and the only saving grace was the one-yard rushing touchdown he scored. With one of his worst performances of his young career, Cam would like to put it behind him and look forward to this week’s game against the Atlanta Falcons, only one problem, he might have the same ugly performance.

The Falcons are a top-10 pass defense and are allowing 207yds/gm to opposing quarterbacks. In the last two weeks the Atlanta defense has shut down the likes of Peyton Manning and Philip Rivers, quarterbacks that are better pure-passers than Cam, picking them off five times and allowing only one TD. The Falcons generate a decent pass rush and have solid linebackers and defensive backs that can cover ground and do not give up the big play, not allowing a single 40+ yard play this year. Cam will be going to the Georgia Dome where the Falcons are always hard to beat and his performance will prove it. Cam Newton is going to throw for 220 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions. You can always hope for a goal-line carry, or play it smart and sit Cam Newton for Week 4.
