For most leagues, the Super Bowl was this past week and a few of you are collecting the dough and holding the trophy or fantasy championship belt. There were a couple repeat offenders this week and one superstar that flopped like a soccer player in the penalty box.

Top 5 Fantasy Woes of Week 16

Andrew Luck

This Indianapolis Colt literally ran out of gas this past weekend after having an absolute stellar season up until your fantasy Super Bowl. The Dallas Cowboys thrashed Indy to the tune of 42-7 as Luck was pulled from the game in the third quarter. The former Stanford Cardinal was 15 of 22 passing with a measly 109 yards and two interceptions, which equates to zero fantasy points in standard leagues. You scored as many fantasy points as Andrew Luck on Sunday.

Jamaal Charles

It is a sad day when Alex Smith turns into a better start than Charles and the former had over 300 yards passing, while the latter only had 29 yards rushing. The top tailback also lost a fumble, but did have five catches for 48 yards. The Chiefs had to throw the ball while playing catch up the entire second half and Charles finished with nine carries. There is really no way even a guy with his big-play ability can do very much with such few touches.

Justin Forsett

If last week was any indication, Forsett disappointed his owners for the second straight week with just 19 yards on 10 carries and four catches for 13 yards. This coming after the veteran running back had helped catapult some fantasy teams into the playoffs after racking up a total of 359 yards and three touchdowns from Week 12 to 14. An ankle injury caused him to miss some snaps, but it didn’t matter because there wasn’t much running room in the first place. It didn’t help that the two starting tackles were also missing in the second half of Baltimore’s 25-13 loss in Houston.

A.J. Green

You had to wait until Monday night to see your star wideout play on primetime with either a lead to protect or a margin of victory to overcome. And then you saw Green take a big hit from Denver’s T.J. Ward in the first quarter and he was never the same after that. Injuries have played a big part in what has been a down year for the ultra-talented wide receiver as he finished Monday’s game with no catches on four targets. Quarterback Andy Dalton wasn’t horrible on primetime and the Bengals actually won a televised game with their best passing target in-and-out of the lineup all game.

Greg Olsen

The former Miami Hurricane turned in a real stinker of a performance as Carolina triumphed over the Cleveland Browns, 17-13. Olsen had one catch on three targets for 21 yards and this came after he racked up 10 catches in each of the past two games. His 82 catches for the season are tied for the most among tight ends and his 119 targets are only second to Rob Gronkowski. It has been a heck of a season for the eight-year pro, but Sunday’s performance was very ill-timed.
